One Year and Change

One year and seven days ago ...

I got to marry the love of my life.  Thanks, darling, for being there with me, boldly going where neither of us has gone before, and loving me through it all. I can imagine no better companion for co-adventuring than you, and I feel lucky to have you as the captain as we navigate this crazy ship of life.  Whatever comes next, I know it will be great because I have you with me.  I love you, babe.

It's hard to believe looking back at these photos that it's already been a whole year. In some ways, it seems like not long ago that all of this was happening.  Yet all it takes is a glance back at our blog over the past year's adventures to see how much really has happened since then.  We commemorated the date with a series of Anniversary surprises: Roses, Perry's (ohmygoodnesgracious, good food!),  an adventure on the new trails of our neighborhood, and RUSH!

There have been some big changes in the past year and change...

We said some goodbyes: Goodbye, Townhouse on Wunderlich and my family's house in Kingwood. (Below are pictures of Gordon giving one last wave from our front stoop and a last shot of me in the bedroom of my teenage years.)

And we've said hello to lots of things new!

Hello, new house!

Hello, new neighborhood!

Hello, site of future mailboxes! (Okay, so this one's actually been more than a little annoying, but we are pleased to report that the local post office has finally agreed to hold our mail until the USPS decides to put in a box for us.)

Hello, baby boy! (Alright, we're not quite there on this last one either. We've got about seven weeks to go before we get to see him in person!)

It's lots of excitement, and there's more to come! Still, some things remain the same. :)
